Students at Ware Shoals Primary had fun this morning learning safety skills and enjoying a few thrills at the Western Laurens Fire Department. While students were having fun, school officials assigned to the Reunification Team were practicing their skills that are an integral part of the district's Emergency Management Team.
Students learned about fire safety skills and bus evacuation procedures, and they got to practice some of the skills needed by fire professionals when responding to a call, like pulling people to safety, carrying equipment, and operating a fire hose.
WSHS students who are members of Squad 51 were in charge of each of the learning stations. They enjoyed being the experts and sharing their knowledge with the children.
We appreciate our partnership with our local fire departments, and we want to give a special thanks to Western Laurens for hosting us and helping all of us as we LEARN, SERVE, LEAD together!
