Today was a special day for many students, as the Class Ring Ceremony was held. Class rings, worn by juniors and seniors, symbolize the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. The rings are meant to be worn to show school pride and illustrate the great things students have been involved in during their high school career.
The first class rings date back to 1835 when students at West Point Military Academy wore them to honor their years at the school and the completion of their education.
At the Class Ring Ceremony, students have their rings placed on their finger by a family member, if possible. Afterwards, students gather to compare rings and to take pictures. It was a special time of celebration at Ware Shoals High today!
