Ware Shoals High School proudly welcomed Senator Garrett to commend its students for their completion of the STOP THE BLEED® and Until Help Arrives programs. This is the first year that WSHS has provided these programs to all students who complete the state-mandated CPR training for high schoolers, and we intend to continue their implementation moving forward.
The US Department of Defense's STOP THE BLEED® equips people with the skills to help stop life-threatening bleeding, while FEMA's Until Help Arrives empowers participants with the knowledge to provide immediate assistance in emergencies until professional help arrives.
Principal Maria Tyre expressed her confidence that these initiatives will foster a culture of preparedness and community service among Ware Shoals students. "We are immensely proud of our students' work learning these life-saving skills," remarked Principal Tyre. "By integrating STOP THE BLEED® and Until Help Arrives into our curriculum, we are empowering our students to become good citizens and strong members of our community."
