Bell Schedule Update: In response to the rising numbers of COVID 19, we will implement a new bell schedule in order reduce possible student exposure. Starting Monday, August 16th, we will run the bell schedule attached. Cohort A has first lunch. Cohort B has second lunch.

COVID-19 update for WSSD51: Since last Thursday, August 5th, we have had 4 COVID-positive students, resulting in 62 students and 1 staff member being quarantined as close contacts. Masks are available at school and on school buses if you wish for your child to wear one.

The COVID-19 vaccine clinic was a great success! Thanks to all 58 people who came and rolled up their sleeve. The next clinic will be August 27 from 2-5PM at the WS Community Library to administer second doses as well as first doses to those who were unable to come to the first clinic.

COVID update: All counties in SC, except Laurens and Bamberg, now have a HIGH incidence rate. Self Regional will administer the Pfizer vaccine, with the 2nd dose scheduled for August 27th. Those who get vaccinated will receive free gifts.

Signs will be posted to show where to enter. A consent form must be completed by a parent or legal guardian before children aged 12-15 may receive their vaccine. No parent or legal guardian is required to be present at the time of the vaccination. Students 16 and older may sign for themselves. Information and consent forms may be found at the following site. We will have a vaccine clinic next Friday, August 6, from 2-5PM at the WS Community Library. This will be for students ages 12 and up, staff, and community members. Self Regional will administer the Pfizer vaccine. The second dose will be given August 27. This is a walk-up clinic, so you do not have to sign up…just show up!! Students under 18 must have parent permission. More information will be sent next week.

WSSD 51 has been approved to provide FREE MEALS to ALL students enrolled in our district and children 18 years and younger in our community under the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program for SY 2021 - 2022. Children do not have to be enrolled in WSSD 51 to be eligible. All children not enrolled in our district must sign up (use link below) to receive the free meals for pick-up Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30 am – 11:00 am. Sign up is required each week for all meal requests and will begin after 3:00 pm each Thursday and end the following Tuesday at 3:00 pm for the next weeks meals. They met with student leaders from other high schools as well as First Lady of South Carolina, Peggy McMaster. We look forward to implementing some new ideas that they learned!
