Ware Shoals School District 51 will again provide online registration for the upcoming school year, allowing parents with returning students to reduce the time required to register their children. Online registration will open on Monday, July 22nd. To register, visit the district’s website, www.gwd51.org, and click the “2019-2020 Returning Student Registration” button. Parents who register online may still need to visit their child’s school during registration at their child’s school on July 30th from 11:00AM – 7:00PM to finalize the registration process, pick up schedules, and pay fees if they did not do so online. In order to register online, parents will need a login code for each child. Login codes called "SNAPCODES" may be found on last year’s final report cards. Parents who have email address information on file will receive an email message this week from the district that includes the SNAPCODE. Parents may also obtain login codes and assistance as needed by calling their child’s school after July 25th. New students must register in person at the school July 30th. Parents of 4K and new 5K students will need to bring the following documentation: • Immunization Record • Birth Certificate • *Social Security Card A required meeting will be held for all 4K parents on July 30th at 1PM in the Ware Shoals Primary School Library. *Although this card cannot be mandated according to current State law, it is strongly recommended by the School District because of its impact on accurate student records.

The Annette Batson Memorial Garden is bursting with blooms! What a beautiful tribute to a teacher who is still missed. This past year, one of our students - Cameron Madden - built a swing for his senior project and donated it to us. It makes a lovely addition to the garden. Quote of the day: "Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get." H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Graduation forecast: HOT!! High 90s are forecast for Tuesday, May 28th. The concrete bleachers will likely be pretty warm from the day's heat, so you may want to bring a blanket, stadium seat, or cushion to sit on. We will have a water station, and we have asked EMS to be in attendance. We will live stream the ceremony on Facebook, so those who are unable to attend can see it in real time. Happy Memorial Day weekend! Stay safe.
