We are pleased to inform you that WSSD51 will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) that is available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. What does this mean for you and your child(ren)? All enrolled students in our school district, regardless of income level, are eligible to receive a healthy school breakfast and school lunch at no charge each day. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. The CEP is a new alternative to the traditional meal application process associated with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. CEP alleviates the burden on families by eliminating household applications, while helping schools reduce costs associated with collecting and processing those applications. For more information about CEP, please visit https://www.fns.usda.gov/cn/community-eligibility-provision-resource-center

Dear Families, Like you, we are shocked and deeply saddened by the news of the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas on Tuesday. We share in the heartbreak we are all feeling for the families who have lost a loved one due to this senseless act of violence. School should and must be a place where students feel completely safe and secure. We have SROs in every school, and we will continue to make safety our priority. Student safety must be shared by everyone. If anyone hears or reads a threat online or observes someone displaying behavior that is of concern, please report it directly or use our STOPit app. SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. We know that children and teens will process this news in different ways. Counselors are available at each of our school buildings to assist students who may need some extra support. We strongly encourage any students to stop by the counseling office at any time. Please join us in praying for the students, staff, and families of the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District. Sincerely, Dr. Fay Sprouse, Superintendent WSSD 51 Board of Trustees WSSD 51 Faculty and Staff

Join us in congratulating Savannah Campbell, WSHS Guidance Counselor, for being named State and Regional CTE School Counselor of the Year! Mrs. Campbell provides students and parents with sound advice and helps them to navigate the post-secondary educational experience. She has been instrumental in the rapid expansion of Career and Technology courses in our district. Within a period of three years, our CTE courses have transformed from mainly Business and Agriculture content to fields which now include: Automotive, Health Care, HVAC, Mechatronics, Machine Tool, Electricity, and Education. Her greatest gift is the ability to develop positive relationships with students and co-workers. Pictured, L to R...
