District COVID-19 update... As of Friday, August 20th, we had 7 positive student cases and 50 quarantined students. More and more staff and students are choosing to wear face masks as the number of cases in our community and schools rise. Our nurses continue to offer testing and contact tracing for students and staff. We appreciate their hard work in helping to keep us safe!

As a state, we hit a sobering milestone this week—10,000 South Carolinians will have died due to COVID-19. As South Carolinians, we remember those who are no longer with us and express sympathy to the families who have lost loved ones.
COVID-19 update for WSSD51: Since last Thursday, August 5th, we have had 4 COVID-positive students, resulting in 62 students and 1 staff member being quarantined as close contacts. Masks are available at school and on school buses if you wish for your child to wear one.
The COVID-19 vaccine clinic was a great success! Thanks to all 58 people who came and rolled up their sleeve. The next clinic will be August 27 from 2-5PM at the WS Community Library to administer second doses as well as first doses to those who were unable to come to the first clinic.

This is a walk-up clinic, so you do not have to sign up…just show up!!
Students under 18 must have parent permission. More information will be sent next week.
COVID-19 update for WSSD51: As of this morning, school nurses have reported 5 positive cases, resulting in about 70 students being quarantined as close contacts, the majority of which have been at the high school. Masks are available at school and on school buses if you wish for your child to wear one. Starting next week, students at the primary and middle schools will have lunch in their classroom so that we can keep them within their group as much as possible. Please keep sick children at home. If you want them tested, contact your school nurse.

COVID-19 update for WSSD51: WSH - 2 positives. Close contacts have been identified and placed on quarantine. Close contacts who are fully vaccinated are not required to quarantine. Please do not send your child to school if he/she has COVID symptoms, but call our district nurse at 864-377-0587. She will advise you and do a COVID test at no cost if desired.
